Bubinga Spindle Blanks
Guibourtia demeusei. Air and kiln dried.
All dimensions shown are in inches (length x square).
Heartwood varies from reddish to pink brown sometimes with darker brown stripes. Sapwood is off white to pale brown. A hard, fine grained timber which turns to an excellent finish.
Oil finish will leave Bubinga matt whereas cellulose and acrylic sealers and lacquers give a deep, high shine.
Very good for fine detail spindle work.
Proposed CITES listing.
Because Guibourtia demeusei so closely resembles the more endangered G. tessmannii and G. pellegriniana, it has been proposed by Gabon and the European Union that all three bubinga varieties be CITES listed (Appendix ll).

We have chain of custody documentation to show the bubinga we currently offer for sale pre-dates this proposal but we are dubious about re-supply long term.
