We all learn the hard way that the inside diameter must never be equal to the outside diameter and have favourite calipers to reduce this risk.
Among the more specialised calipers shown here, A, B and C are ideal for measuring wall thicknesses on narrow vessels with small openings.
Gauge I is designed with various settings to allow grain matching when cutting threads, but also has a blank setting, ideal for accurate sizing of box lids and similar.
Sizing tool H fits the standard 1/4 in. and 3/8 in. parting tool and is used to cut repetitive spigots to pre-set sizes.
