ROBERT SORBY METRIC PRECISION BORING SYSTEM with 30mm Stem
No, not a politician, but a useful and accurate drill jig for dozens of jobs on the lathe.
A useful and accurate jig for dozens of jobs on the lathe - decorating bowl and spindle work with holes or inserted plugs of contrasting colours as well as projects requiring accurately placed spindles such as mug trees, spinning wheels, small stools etc. Used in lathe with a drill and indexer as shown. Many chucks have an indexing facility, but if not, we can supply Sorby’s own (See Sorby Indexing System).
When initially setting up, set the stem in the banjo so that the drill point is exactly on the centre line height. This setting can be marked with a line on the stem, but a better way is to turn and drill a collar of the appropriate length and slip the stem into it. Just pick the stem size to suit your lathe. If you have two lathes or have changed model, spare stems and bushes available
Metric System Contains
6, 9 and 12mm drill bits and bushes.
