Product Code: PELGJ
Long Grind Jig
For most woodturners, a bowl gouge ground to 45° in a V jig such like PEVBwill cut almost any bowl easily and safely.
That said, the fingernail profile is preferred by many turners but difficult to sharpen evenly without a jig.
The Sorby jig, either used on a grinder or the ProEdge has always been used to create a basic fingernail but after listening to customers’ requests for a longer wing, they have made a new Long Grind Jig block with three holes. The PELGJ can be used on the ProEdge or the 445 and 447.
The first hole is the same as on the standard block and shapes the gouge as in gouge 1 (bottom left). The second hole does gouge 2 (below center) and the third, gouge 3 (bottom right) which is very similar to the famous Ellsworth grind.
