Product Code: RRS100KT_MST
ROBERT SORBY RS100KT Midi Multi-tip
Same design but a smaller version of the RS200KT. Same use exactly, but for smaller work.
The tear drop cutter has 2 curved faces and one straight for shear scraping faceplate work. A ground angle of about 10° on this cutter creates an ideal burr for this cut.
The small hollowing tips will remove wood aggressively but are easy to control.
Ideal for eggcups, goblets and basic hollowing. Also used for undercutting bowl rims.
Supplied with the three cutters shown.
A scraper is a type of wood turner who uses blunt tools to gnaw and brutalise wood.
A scraper tool is generally a flat cutting tool that will leave a fine finish if the edge on the tool is sharp. Ask any metal turner!
Shear scraping is a something of a recent development in that instead of holding the scraper flat as we did at school, (that dates me!) the blade is held at an angle of 45° so that the wood slides by the cutting edge. This cut will make shavings as fine as angel hair.
