Planer Knife Setting Jig
 
We have been using a set like these for years on our own planer thicknesser because they save a lot of fiddling and frustration in setting the planer knives (blades) exactly to the same height every time
 
To use, loosen the knives in the block, fix the magnetic base of the jig to the knife block (one each side), set the magnetic knife setter to the correct height (you’ll only do this once) and blades will rise to exactly the right height. Then you lock the blades and remove the jigs.
Perfectly level and synchronised blades each time.
